Instructional Spotlight

Wings of Wonder: SLC Takes Learning to New Heights at Monte Sano

Our SLC students recently took their learning beyond the classroom with an engaging field trip to Monte Sano, where hands-on experiences brought science and exploration to life.

Throughout the day, students used binoculars to observe birds in their natural habitats, deepening their understanding of bird behavior, sounds, and anatomy. They explored feathers up close, making meaningful connections between classroom learning and real-world application. In addition to these rich learning experiences, students built social connections and independence while enjoying time together on the playground and in a new environment.
A collage of photos shows students on a field trip to Monte Sano, engaging in various activities like birdwatching and playing.
