Welcome to Liberty! I am so excited to serve as one of the assistant principals at LMS. I have been blessed to be a part of the LMS family since 2009. I was born and raised in Scottsboro, Alabama. I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees at Auburn University, educational specialist degree at Middle Tennessee State University, and a doctoral degree at Samford University. Ms. Christina Williams McBeth is proud to serve as an Assistant Principal here at Liberty Middle School, where she delights in working with the faculty, staff, student body and families to ensure a safe, encouraging, and prosperous learning environment. Having served in education for 29 years, Ms. McBeth is diligent in establishing relationships with students, staff, and Liberty Nation. Before arriving at Liberty Middle School in an administrative role, Ms. McBeth has taught in the Huntsville City and Madison County School Systems, as a Regular 9th and Honors 9th Grade English Teacher; she has been Teacher of the Year six times.
She brings an encouraging aura to every aspect of her duties, which will include: supporting teachers and their classroom instruction, promoting excellence, as well as, encouraging support for all students.
Ms. McBeth has three adult children: Brian Jr., Briace, and Brionya McBeth. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, teaching Sunday School, crocheting, watching sports, along with spending time with her puppy, Bostyn. She is ready to ROAR and SOAR with the Liberty Lions, and encourage them to achieve greater success!
Cyrus Swearingen is proud to serve as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Liberty, where he is dedicated to fostering a positive, supportive, and high-achieving school culture. With a strong background in education and leadership, Mr. Swearingen is passionate about building relationships with students, staff, and the Liberty family. Before stepping into administration, Mr. Swearingen taught at James Clemens High School, Bob Jones High School, and Liberty Middle School for over 10 years and has 25 years coaching experience. These experiences have given him a well-rounded perspective on the academic, athletic, and developmental needs of students at multiple grade levels.
He brings a student-centered approach to every aspect of his work, whether supporting classroom instruction, promoting athletics, or ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. His leadership philosophy centers on teamwork, accountability, and continuous growth—both on and off the field.
Mr. Swearingen is married to Tosha Swearingen, and together they have two children, Riley and Parker. Outside of school, he enjoys staying active and spending quality time with his family. He is committed to helping every student succeed and is honored to be part of the Liberty Lions team.
