7th Grade School Counselor | Liberty Middle School | KAJohnson2@madisoncity.k12.al.us

Hello, Liberty Lions!

My name is Kemari Johnson, and I am proud to serve as the 7th Grade Counselor at Liberty Middle School! Originally from New York City, I am passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while ensuring they feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Oakwood University, my master's degree in Child Life from Loma Linda University in California, and a second master's degree in Exceptional Student Education from the University of West Florida. I also bring over eight years of specialized experience working with children on the autism spectrum. I am currently pursuing further education specializing in counseling and mental health to continue expanding my knowledge and ability to support students and families.

As a school counselor, I strive to create a welcoming environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to succeed. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our students, families, and staff while helping our seventh-grade Lions navigate middle school with confidence and resilience.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our son, skating, hiking, and trying new and adventurous activities. I love making memories with my family and embracing new experiences!

I am excited to be part of the Liberty Middle School family and look forward to a wonderful year of growth, learning, and success!
