Meet Mrs. Harvard ("Mrs. H.")

Mrs. Harvard ("Mrs. H.") earned a Bachelor of Science in History and a Master's in Secondary Education from the University of Montevallo. Since beginning her teaching career in 2007, she has taught primarily history at the middle school, high school, and community college levels.

Theatre and music have always been a significant part of Mrs. H.'s life, and she is delighted to share her passion with Liberty students every day. As a student, she participated in musical productions at Grissom High School and spent all four years at the University of Montevallo performing in and helping produce College Night (GV, Gold Side!). She has also volunteered backstage for many years; supporting her own children's school musicals and theatrical performances.

Mrs. H. joined Liberty Middle School during the 2024–2025 school year as the long-term substitute theatre teacher and officially became a full-time member of the faculty in 2025–2026. She is proud to be a Liberty Lion!

Mrs. H. believes there is a place for everyone in theatre. Whether students are performers, technicians, artists, designers, builders, or leaders, she strives to help each one discover their strengths and find where they belong. She also believes that theatre develops skills that extend far beyond the stage, fostering creativity, collaboration, confidence, problem-solving, communication, and empathy.

Liberty Middle School Theatre — including Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, and Technical Theatre — is built on a foundation of respect and kindness.
Mrs. H.'s personal motto is: "Leave things (and people) better than you find them."

Outside of school, Mrs. H. enjoys spending time at home and traveling with her husband and their three children. Her favorite hobbies include reading, photography, painting/drawing, classic films (especially musicals!), walking, cooking, and organizing. She is naturally curious and is always excited to learn something new.

Break a leg, Liberty!
