I am excited to be teaching 7th/8th grade Computer Science, Digital Publishing Tools, and Yearbook/Digital Photography at Liberty Middle School this year. Along with a Master's Degree in Technology Education from Auburn University I am also certified through Microsoft as an Master Application Specialist for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, as well as a certified instructor through PROJECT LEAD THE WAY (PLTW), specifically their Gateway to Technology - Computer Science Program.

I love new apps, the latest gadgets, and science fiction books and movies. The technology and digital skills learned in these classes will absolutely be used in future education (high school and/or college) as well as the workplace, and in your daily life in general!

A WORD ABOUT CANVAS - OUR LMS

I design and prepare our course curriculums as Web-Based courses.  This means students access all materials and activities through an online Learning Management System (LMS).  I am excited to be using CANVAS as our LMS - this is the same LMS used by many universities, including my alma mater - Auburn University.  Students should plan on sharing their login and password with their parents and showing them what is going on in class.  Parents can even sign up as an observer to their student's account.  The LMS is available 24 hours a day from any device with internet access.  You're going to love it!  You can reach me through Canvas and ALWAYS through the school email

The following students are the NEW staff members for Yearbook class for 2017-2018.  The application process is rigorous, requiring completed applications, a minimum of 2 teacher recommendations, a skills assessment demonstration, and a brief interview.  We are certain with the strong candidate pool of over 40 applicants we are missing out on some superior individuals.  Please try again next year if this is a real interest for you.  There were wonderful, smart, talented, awesome students who were unable to be scheduled for this limited enrollment class. Regardless, we know that you are going to have a GREAT year as a Liberty Lion!
