Liberty Middle School offers three types of visual art classes; Visual Art, Advanced Art, and 3D Art.
Visual Art is a semester class that is open to both 7th and 8th grade students. If you only take one art course at Liberty this should be it. In this class students will be introduced to a wide variety of art media, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Students will use these different types of media to improve their artistic skills and explore their creative side. This class will not only focus on studio art, but it will also cover art criticism and art history.
3D Art is a nine week course and will focus on sculpture. It is offered to both 7th and 8th graders. Students will have the opportunity to work with a variety of traditional materials like clay, wire, and paper mache. Students will also have the opportunity to work with some non-traditional materials as well. Students will create both relief and free standing sculptures.
Advanced Art is a semester course offered to students who have previously taken Visual Art at Liberty. Students will work on improving their technical art skills and realism by using a variety of media and art techniques. Students will focus on realism, technique, art history, and art criticism. This class is designed for the true art enthusiast.
